Softball Recap: Livermore Victorious

Livermore won the last time they faced Alameda and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cowboys walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Hornets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.

Kaci Norton tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Laine Macosky, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Gianna Willes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Livermore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alameda only posted an OBP of .391.

Livermore's record now sits at 9-3. As for Alameda, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Livermore will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Freedom at 5:00 p.m. As for Alameda, they will face off against Whitney on Friday.
