Volleyball Game Preview: James Monroe Mavericks vs. Buffalo Bison

The James Monroe Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Buffalo Bison at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (James Monroe has ten straight victories, Buffalo has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

James Monroe barely beat Independence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-19, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Buffalo suffered their biggest defeat since September 10th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Poca.

While Buffalo was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 27-25, 25-15.

James Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 22-7-1. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

James Monroe beat Buffalo 2-0 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
