Basketball Game Preview: Napoleon Wildcats vs. Springfield Blue Devils

For the first time this season, Napoleon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Napoleon will be strutting in after a victory while Springfield will be coming in after a loss.

Napoleon was handed a 22-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Defiance 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since December 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, Springfield played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Southview and fell 60-9. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-3.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Napoleon, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Napoleon against Springfield in their previous matchup back in February, as the squad secured a 71-19 win. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 47-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
