Baseball Recap: Spencer's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Spencer came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Greenwood Indians get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Peterson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched. He has become a key player for Spencer: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 2-4 otherwise. Peterson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Luepke, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Reed Knecht was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Spencer now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Greenwood, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Spencer will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
