With a playoff win on the line, Canton rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They skirted past the Laurel Golden Tornadoes 42-40. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Several Golden Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayllis Walker, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Carmichael, who scored ten points and six boards.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 27-5. As for Laurel, they moved to 31-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 26-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Canton beat Laurel by a score of 42-40 later that day.
