Softball Recap: South Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Gilmour Academy Lancers on Thursday by a score of 9-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since May 4, 2024.

Savannah Jolly was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Schneider, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got South back to even at 5-5. As for Gilmour Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South will take on West Geauga at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilmour Academy, they will face off against Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
