Baseball Recap: Gig Harbor Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Gig Harbor is still undefeated this season after their game against West Seattle on Saturday, but West Seattle came as close as anyone has to beating them. Gig Harbor never let West Seattle get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was payback for the Tides, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Gig Harbor got a great performance from Logan Pedersen as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Mar, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Corley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Gig Harbor pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Seattle, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gig Harbor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Silas at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. As for West Seattle, they will take on Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Garfield's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so West Seattle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
