Football Recap: Brandeis Broncos vs. Johnson Jaguars

Brandeis lost against Johnson back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The contest between the Broncos and the Jaguars didn't end well, with the Broncos falling 45-28. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Jaguars are ranked 89th).

Despite the loss, Brandeis still got an impressive performance from Jaron Morris, who rushed for 181 yards and one TD while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown.

A big part of Johnson's win came down to the chemistry between Elvis Estrada and his top target Bryson Thompson. Estrada threw for 324 yards while completing 80.6% of his passes while Thompson picked up 123 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Estrada has posted since back in September of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Brandeis and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Johnson, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
