Volleyball Recap: Andover Takes a Loss

The Andover Golden Warriors didn't have quite enough to beat the Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons on Friday and fell 3-2. The Golden Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andover wouldn't go down easily and took Greater Lowell Tech into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-13, 25-15, 22-25, 15-11.

Greater Lowell Tech can attribute much of their success to LaDainian Loeung, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Loeung a new career-high.

Andover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Greater Lowell Tech, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Andover will square off against St. John's Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greater Lowell Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Acton-Boxborough at 5:00 p.m.
