Basketball Recap: Waterbury Career Academy Spartans vs. Torrington Raiders

Even though the Torrington Raiders scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans still came out on top. Waterbury Career Academy walked away with a 79-69 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for Waterbury Career Academy.

It was another big night for Andrew Williams, who scored 37 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Williams, who scored 16 points along with three steals.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luca White, who scored 23 points along with eight assists. Logan Tucciarone was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.

Waterbury Career Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.1 points per game. As for Torrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Waterbury Career Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Wilby has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,030 points over their last 13 contests. As for Torrington, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolcott is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
