Baseball Recap: Hoover Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Hoover proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Charleston Catholic Irish 3-2. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kaeden Johnson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hoover saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Kee, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Hoover's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Charleston Catholic, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Coincidentally, Hoover and Charleston Catholic will both be playing Madonna the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Blue Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Irish will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
