Basketball Game Preview: Westhope/Newburg Sioux vs. Our Redeemer's Christian Knights

Westhope/Newburg is 2-8 against Our Redeemer's Christian since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Westhope/Newburg Sioux will head out to face off against the Our Redeemer's Christian Knights at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westhope/Newburg is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 61-32 loss at the hands of Glenburn. The contest marked the Sioux's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Marleigh Henry, Olivia Ogaard, and Macy Bryans posted six points each. Bryans also led the team in assists with three.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-36, which was the final score in Our Redeemer's Christian's tilt against South Prairie/Max on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while South Prairie/Max are ranked third).

Our Redeemer's Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Westhope/Newburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Westhope/Newburg might still be hurting after the 66-46 loss they got from Our Redeemer's Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Westhope/Newburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
