Baseball Game Preview: Poughkeepsie Pioneers vs. Hamilton Raiders

The Poughkeepsie Pioneers will head out to take on the Hamilton Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Poughkeepsie's win against Woodlands wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers skirted past the Falcons 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted since April 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hamilton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Gorton 6-5. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by just one run.

The win was the third in a row for Hamilton, bringing their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Poughkeepsie, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
