Football Game Preview: Orrick Bearcats vs. Concordia Fighting Orioles

The Orrick Bearcats will head out to take on the Concordia Fighting Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orrick has given up an average of 32 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Orrick is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Norborne/Hardin-Central on Friday. They lost 38-12 to Norborne/Hardin-Central. The Bearcats have struggled against Norborne/Hardin-Central recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Although Orrick took the loss, they still got scores from Levi Fielder and Lucas Walker.

Meanwhile, Concordia came up short against Lincoln on Friday and fell 34-21.

Even if they lost, Concordia's defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Dane Wilckens, Maddix Inman, Jared Bermudez, and Brayden Frerking picked up two apiece. Frerking also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

Concordia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Orrick, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2.

Orrick was taken down by Concordia 55-6 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Fighting Orioles' Carson Droege, who rushed for 110 yards and two scores. Now that the Bearcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
