Basketball Recap: Joppatowne Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Joppatowne can now relate to. They took a blow against Patterson Mill on Monday, falling 53-26. The Mariners have struggled against Patterson Mill recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Leading Patterson Mill to victory were Rylie Madsen and Zoe Valan. Madsen dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards, while Valan dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Madsen has become a key player for Patterson Mill: the team is 13-3 when she posts at least eight boards, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Trinh, who posted three points along with nine steals and five rebounds.

Joppatowne's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Patterson Mill, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Joppatowne nor Patterson Mill have any future games scheduled.
