Preview: Pocatello Thunder vs. Twin Falls Bruins
The Pocatello Thunder are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Twin Falls Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Pocatello has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 475 points over their last seven games.
Pocatello pushed their score all the way to 75 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ironwood. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pocatello came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Idaho, while Ironwood is ranked 36th in Arizona).
Meanwhile, Twin Falls waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Burley with a sharp 78-57 win. Twin Falls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Pocatello's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Twin Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Everything went Pocatello's way against Twin Falls in their previous matchup back in November as Pocatello made off with a 76-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pocatello since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
