There's no place like home for Providence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the DuPont Manual Crimsons 3-2. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Providence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-13.

Hadley Hasselbring paced Providence's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hasselbring got some help from Rylie Neal and her 44 assists. Finally, Haidyn Carter kept Providence's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

With the win, Providence broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for DuPont Manual, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Providence will square off against Brownstown Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DuPont Manual, they will take on Paul Laurence Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
