Baseball Recap: Wiggins Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Wiggins nor Liberty Common made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 7-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Oliver Park made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Flores, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Wiggins has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Liberty Common, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wiggins will challenge Limon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Badgers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Liberty Common, they will take on Dawson School at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
