Basketball Recap: Academy of Excellence Takes a Loss

Academy of Excellence lost against Rock County Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Academy of Excellence Warriors were beaten by the Rock County Christian Eagles 93-20. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-10.

Rock County Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tony Thompson out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Thompson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gideon Ukwuorji, who went 10 of 11 on his way to 21 points.

Academy of Excellence dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rock County Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Academy of Excellence will square off against Wisconsin School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Rock County Christian, they will challenge Grace Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Rock County Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
