Softball Recap: Hilltop Extends Winning Streak to 11

Hilltop came tearing into Thursday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Stryker Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Giada Rising made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Hilltop got a big performance out of Allie Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Isabella Ackley was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Hilltop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.

Hilltop's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Stryker, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, Hilltop will take on Northview at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Stryker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
