On Saturday, the Oak Grove Eagles rang in the new year with a 67-55 victory over the North Salinas Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

North Salinas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevon Kubulan, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points. Elijah De Guzman was another key player, putting up nine points.

Oak Grove's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6. As for North Salinas, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

Oak Grove will face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Salinas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-46 defeat against Greenfield on the 6th.
