Baseball Recap: Randolph Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Randolph can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They skirted past the Falconer Golden Falcons 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Golden Falcons back in April, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Aiden Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Randolph's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was David Malone, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Wyatt Weaver was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Randolph picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Falconer, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Coming up, Randolph will be playing at home against Cattaraugus-Little Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Falconer, they will face off against Southwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
