Volleyball Recap: Alhambra's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Alhambra had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Glendale Cardinals. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While Alhambra won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-23.

Alhambra can attribute much of their success to AlexAnder Lopez, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lopez has posted over his last six matches.

Lopez wasn't the only good server: Alhambra was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Alhambra's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13. As for Glendale, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Alhambra has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Fairfax on the 21st. As for Glendale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Metro Tech on the 21st.
