Basketball Recap: Forrest County Agricultural Comes Up Short

After flying high against Purvis on Thursday, Forrest County Agricultural came back down to earth. The Aggies fell 71-66 to the St. Martin Yellow Jackets on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (56), the Aggies still had to take the loss.

St. Martin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reginald 'RJ' Keys out in front who shot 53% from the field on his way to 18 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the most points Keys has posted since back in December of 2024. Markel Simmons was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Forrest County Agricultural now has a losing record of 2-3. As for St. Martin, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest County Agricultural will host Jefferson Davis County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Martin, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Theodore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
