Volleyball Recap: Munster Mustangs vs. Lowell Red Devils
There's no place like home for Munster, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lowell Red Devils on Thursday as the Munster Mustangs made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Munster was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 28-26.
Leading Munster to victory were Lily Gena and Karly Pala. Gena had 19 digs and three aces, while Pala had five digs and 20 assists. Gena is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Munster was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowell only served six.
Munster pushed their record up to 11-14 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Lowell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
Munster will challenge Portage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lowell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss vs. Kankakee Valley on the 1st.
