Baseball Recap: Queen's Grant Comes Up Short

Queen's Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mountain Island Charter Raptors, falling 15-1. The Stallions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raptors from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Queen's Grant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Weiss, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Weiss is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Queen's Grant's record now sits at 0-8. As for Mountain Island Charter, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Queen's Grant will head out on the road to square off against Sugar Creek Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen's Grant has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will welcome Christ the King at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
