George Jenkins gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Junior Jacquez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brayden Abdon and Bryce Vern did most of the damage at the plate: Abdon scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Vern scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Those three hits gave Abdon a new career-high. Sebastian Phakousonh was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

George Jenkins is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Lakeland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, George Jenkins will be taking part in a tournament against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeland, they will square off against IMG Academy Gray at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
