Baseball Recap: Prairie Has No Trouble Against Peetz

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Prairie and Peetz had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-2 victory on Thursday. The Mustangs have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Tyler Troudt was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. Prairie is undefeated when Troudt posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hunter Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Troudt wasn't the only one making solid contact: Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Prairie now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Peetz, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Prairie beat the Bulldogs by a score of 15-5 later that day.
