The third road match was the charm for Stuarts Draft, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Nelson County Governors on Friday. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

AllyKate Lunsford was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Addyson Dameron also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Stuarts Draft's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Nelson County, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Stuarts Draft and Nelson County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Stuarts Draft is set to square off against their familiar foe Waynesboro at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Nelson County will challenge rival Chatham at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
