Recap: Laton Mustangs vs. Legacy Christian Academy Lions
The Laton Mustangs's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Legacy Christian Academy by a score of 46-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Laton also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Laton was led to victory by Jaythan Garcia and Johnathan Garcia. Garcia scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Garcia scored ten points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Garcia posted eight or more assists. Mario Chavez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Laton's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Laton will be playing in front of their home fans against Kings Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kings Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Laton in California (Kings Christian is ranked 680th, while Laton is ranked 1439th). As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
