CONCORD, N.C. - After trading leads seven times,
Concord (N.C.) snatched the lead for good when
Rocky Reid ran for a touchdown in the second quarter, paving the way for victory over
Central Cabarrus (Concord, N.C.) 63-50.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Reid in the second quarter, the Spiders were up 34-30 at the half.
Concord expanded its lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored three times in the third, including once on a Reid touchdown run.
Concord's standout player in the win was Reid. The junior running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.
Concord also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 54-25.
The loss comes after Central Cabarrus defeated Hickory Ridge 63-26 last week.
In a 3A Conference 7 game next week Concord (6-0) takes on Cox Mill, and Central Cabarrus (5-1) will go up against West Rowan also in a 3A Conference 7 game.
