Softball Recap: St. Marys Flying Dutch vs. Mohawk Area Warriors
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Marys had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mohawk Area Warriors, sneaking past 4-2.
Avery Eckels spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, St. Marys' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaylen Eozzo, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Kelsie Fledderman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
