Softball Recap: North Hunterdon Takes a Loss

North Hunterdon lost against Pope John XXIII back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of Pope John XXIII by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for North Hunterdon and nudges their season record down to 10-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Pope John XXIII, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Coming up, North Hunterdon will challenge Robbinsville at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pope John XXIII, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morris Knolls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pope John XXIII is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Morris Knolls an eight-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
