Softball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for West Limestone

West Limestone waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Lauderdale County Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

JuliAnn Kyle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Haley Waggoner was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Lilly Bethune was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

West Limestone pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lauderdale County, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 1-1.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. As for Lauderdale County, they will venture away from home to challenge Deshler at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deshler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
