Baseball Recap: Paintsville Snags 13th Win in Last 16 Games

Paintsville won the last time they faced Magoffin County and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Hornets. Considering the Tigers have won 16 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Anderson Lauffer was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Colton Short was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs.

Paintsville is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Magoffin County, they dropped their record down to 2-24 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Paintsville will challenge Johnson Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3, the Golden Eagles 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Magoffin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
