Softball Recap: Vernon Comes Up Short

Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 23-0 to the Holliday Eagles. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Vernon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Sanchez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That hit was Sanchez's first of the season.

Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Holliday, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7-1.

While Vernon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
