Baseball Game Preview: Shawnee Mission North Bison vs. Olathe East Hawks

Shawnee Mission North is 0-8 against Olathe East since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Bison will challenge the Hawks. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Shawnee Mission North 3.5, Olathe East 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Shawnee Mission North barely beat Bonner Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Olathe East strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Shawnee Mission Northwest by a score of 6-3.

Olathe East pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Shawnee Mission North, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Shawnee Mission North couldn't quite get it done against Olathe East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
