Volleyball Game Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Tinley Park Titans

The Argo Argonauts will head out to square off against the Tinley Park Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Argo came up short against Homewood-Flossmoor and fell 2-0. The Argonauts haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

While Argo was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Tinley Park had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hawks.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Tinley Park was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-10.

Tinley Park's win came from a few key players Argo will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nathan Mungcal, who had six digs and five aces. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Benitez, who had 12 digs.

Tinley Park couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 50% of their attack attempts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hitting percentage total in four consecutive contests.

Tinley Park's record now sits at 11-12. As for Argo, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-9.
