Softball Game Preview: Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Faith Christian Patriots

The Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders will face off against the Faith Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

On March 13th, Harrells Christian Academy came up short against Rocky Mount Academy and fell 11-7. Even though they lost, the Crusaders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Breelyn Peed was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mary Willow Rumbold was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. That hit was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian lost 9-2 to Rocky Mount Academy on Friday.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Harrells Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Harrells Christian Academy took their win against Faith Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-4. Will Harrells Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Faith Christian has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
