Basketball Recap: Owen Howard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clark Fork over Coeur Du Christ Academy

Clark Fork lost against Coeur du Christ Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Clark Fork Wampus Cats took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coeur du Christ Academy Saints. The Wampus Cats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clark Fork lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Owen Howard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards. Mateo Cruz was another key player, going 8 of 18 on his way to 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

It was another big night for Ben Connelly, who almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine boards for Coeur du Christ Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Connelly has scored at least a third of Coeur du Christ Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Clemens, who went 8 for 19 en route to 20 points and five steals.

Clark Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Coeur du Christ Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Clark Fork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-60 loss against Genesis Prep Academy on the 21st. Coeur du Christ Academy has also already played their next game, a 91-81 win against Kootenai on the 24th.
