Volleyball Recap: Maize Comes Up Short

Maize lost against South on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

While Maize was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22.

Brylee Lindgren paced Maize's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lindgren got some help from Addi Wisdom and her 11 assists.

Maize has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for South, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 12-8.

Maize wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Valley Center on the 23rd. As for South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Haysville Campus on the 30th.
