Basketball Recap: San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool Comes Up Short

San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 76-71 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 121st).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornerstone Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Crist, who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. The dominant performance gave Crist a new career-high in points. Benjamin Wagner was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 31-10. As for Cornerstone Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season.

San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will square off against Sinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
