Basketball Recap: Caldwell Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Reidsville

On Saturday, Caldwell Academy faced Reidsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Caldwell Academy Eagles took a hard 63-49 fall against the Reidsville Rams. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Reidsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dionte Neal, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Neal has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 36 times he's played. Kendre Harrison was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Caldwell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Reidsville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Caldwell Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-54 win against Broughton on the 30th. As for Reidsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-61 victory against St. Anne's-Belfield on the 30th.
