Baseball Recap: Bowie Triumphs + How To Watch

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bowie ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Lamar Vikings 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Volunteers: when they faced off against the Vikings on Tuesday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Mika Couch was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Vega, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Bowie has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-17 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lamar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bowie is set to face off against their familiar foe South Grand Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lamar will challenge rival Grand Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
