Basketball Recap: Maple River's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Maple River had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 54-43 victory over the Oakes Tornadoes on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 268th in Minnesota, while the Tornadoes are ranked 45th in North Dakota).

Maple River's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-16. As for Oakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Maple River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-63 win against St. Clair on the 14th. As for Oakes, they will challenge Sargent County at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
