Football Recap: Logan Takes a Loss

Logan dropped to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Chapmanville Regional Tigers. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Logan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Johnson rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown.

As for Chapmanville Regional, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Chapmanville Regional's win came down to the chemistry between Dakota Dalton and his top target Trey Ward. Dalton threw for 220 yards and five TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes while Ward picked up 144 receiving yards and three scores. Those five passing touchdowns gave Dalton a new career-high.

Coming up, Logan will head out on the road to square off against St. Albans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Red Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mingo Central at 7:00 p.m. The Miners' defense has only allowed 13.1 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
