Basketball Game Preview: Pepperell Dragons vs. Model Blue Devils

Pepperell is 2-8 against Model since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Dragons will jump right back in to play the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Pepperell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

While Pepperell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Rome by a score of 56-48 on Thursday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Wolves are ranked 317th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Model). They blew past Coosa, posting a 54-27 victory. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Blue Devils with their most commanding win of the season.

Pepperell's record now sits at 10-1. As for Model, their record is now 6-2.

Pepperell was taken down by Model 62-10 in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
