Baseball Recap: Lakeland Has No Trouble Against Rhinelander

Lakeland won against Northland Pines on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers stepped up to hand the Rhinelander Hodags a 4-0 shutout. The contest marked the Thunderbirds' most dominant win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeland and bumps their season record up to 3-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Rhinelander, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will head out to take on Mosinee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbirds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rhinelander, they will venture away from home to square off against Merrill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
