Recap: Southwest Christian Academy Lions vs. Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors
The Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Southwest Christian Academy Lions proved too difficult a challenge. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 victory over the Conquerors. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southwest Christian Academy.
Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josiah Silvar, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Silvar has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Gavin Hicks was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Southwest Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Christian Ministries Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-3.
Southwest Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Valley Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against New Life Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m.
