Recap: Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars vs. Edmund Burke Academy Spartans
The Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a rough 66-46 loss at the hands of Edmund Burke Academy. Thomas Jefferson Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Grant Mobley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Edmund Burke Academy, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mobley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Redd, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Thomas Jefferson Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson Academy will challenge the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Twiggs Academy is on an eight-game streak of home losses, the Jaguars a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Edmund Burke Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
